About MeWhere Are They (me!) Now?

I got a namecheck in My local paper last week. The Evening Telegraph had been taking note of the GTA 6 trailer, and that Mike Dailly (who I’ve known since the mid-80s) had some sharp words about it. A little later they had an interview with GTA team leader Keith Hamilton. Now, from out of nowhere, they have an article about GTA’s “masterminds” asking where are they now.
I’m one of them. And it’s kind accurate-ish. Though I can hardly claim to be a mastermind.
Real life is messier than that. I wasn’t DMA Design boss Dave’s first employee, and I left midway through GTA not afterwards. I wasn’t tasked to write the GTA screenplay, though I certainly contributed. A couple of quotes from different blog posts are mashed together as if they are contiguous. But, hey, it has my picture. I’m locally micro-famous! Just not at the level of getting my own Wikipedia entry.
For my own part, I have no strong feelings about GTA 6.
Since the paper never contacted me, there wasn’t an actual answer to where I am now, except that in 2015 I “revealed” that I was no longer part of the games industry.
Allow me to fill in the gaps. I was in aerospace for 1999 to 2015. Now I’m freelance and writing the occasional indie comic and half-finished Science Fiction novels. (One day I promise.)
As for where I am now – physically – well in the last while I have moved to Aberdeenshire, for (extended) family reasons. It’s rural and the night skies – when they’re clear – are darker than I’ve ever seen. (Bortle 4, if that means something to you.)
Where I am mentally is REDACTED.
Better yet, there may be progress on an indie game with the aforementioned Mr. Dailly, for which I have written the words. So it turns out I am back in the games industry after all.
I’ll tell you more when I can.
